or has received a positive medical diagnosis, for a possible infectious, contagious, or communicable disease associated with the Public Health Emergency. (4) You are caring for a Family Member if the school or place of care of the Family Member has been closed, or the care provider of such Family Member is unavailable, due to the Public Health Emergency. (5) An Air Quality Emergency, if the Employee is a member of a Vulnerable Population and primarily works outdoors. Family member includes a child, grandchild, grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse or domestic partner, or a designated person if you have no spouse or domestic partner. Amount of Leave Starting on October 1, 2022 and then at the start of each year, full-time employees or employees on a fixed schedule will receive an amount equal to the hours they regularly work in a two-week period. Employees with a variable schedule will be entitled to an amount equal to: (a) the average number of hours you worked or took paid leave over a two-week period during the previous calendar year (or during the previous six months if not employed on October 1 or January 1), or (b) since your start date if after the beginning of the previous calendar year (or since your start date if employed for fewer than six months if not employed on October 1 or January 1).
