Temporary Schedule Changes - New York
In accordance with New York City law, effective July 18, 2018, you may request two temporary schedule changes per calendar year for certain “personal events,” which cover situations relating to (a) a caregiving emergency, (b) a legal proceeding or hearing for subsistence benefits, or (c) any circumstance that would constitute a basis for permissible use of safe time or sick time under applicable law.
You may request different types of schedule changes, including: • A limited alteration in the hours, time or location where you work
• Using paid time off • Working remotely
• Swapping or shifting work hours • Using short-term unpaid leave. You will be granted such request twice per calendar year, for up to one business day per request. If you use two business days for one request, you may not be granted a second request in that calendar year.
