Bone Marrow Donation Leave Eligibility Employees who work an average of 20 or more hours per week are entitled to up to 24 work hours of unpaid leave for purposes of donating bone marrow. Your physician will determine the amount of leave required. However, the leave shall need not exceed 24 work hours unless additional leave is requested and approved by Venable. There is no limitation on how frequently you may take such leave. You must give notice of your intent to take bone marrow donation leave at least 24 hours in advance of a scheduled bone marrow donation and, in the case of an unscheduled bone marrow donation, as soon as possible upon receiving the request for donation. If you would like to do so, you should use accrued but unused sick or PTO leave rather than take unpaid leave.
