Breaks for Nursing Mothers - California
You may request a lactation accommodation by submitting a request to your supervisor in writing prior to returning to work after childbirth. You will receive a response within five business days and we will have an interactive discussion with you to determine the appropriate accommodation. This break is provided for up to three years following the child’s birth. If for some reason we are unable to provide the requested breaks or lactation location, we will respond to you in writing, identifying the reason for the denial, and engage in a cooperative dialogue with you. You have the right to file a complaint with the California Labor Commissioner for any violation of a right under the California lactation accommodation law. Any retaliation in response to a request for lactation accommodation is strictly prohibited. See here for our lactation policy.
