Benefits Handbook Links - Updated February 2023

We will provide more frequent or longer bathroom, water or rest breaks for you to express breast milk. Times/locations for the break should be discussed with your supervisor. If two or more individuals need to use the space at the same time, notify your supervisor who will work with the Human Resources and Administrative Services Departments to make space available. If for some reason we are unable to provide the requested breaks or lactation location, we will respond to you in writing, identifying the reason for the denial, and engage in a cooperative dialogue with you. Upon request, we will provide assistance with manual labor, temporary transfer to a less strenuous or less- hazardous position, modified duties, equipment, policies or work schedule, and time off. Any retaliation against lactating employees for exercising their rights granted under applicable laws is strictly prohibited. This includes those who request time to express breast milk at work and/or who lodge a complaint related to the right to lactation accommodations. This break is provided for up to three years following the child’s birth.
