Organ and Bone Marrow Donation Leave - Maryland

In accordance with applicable law, you may be eligible for unpaid leave of up to 60 business days in any 12 month period to serve as an organ donor and unpaid leave of up to 30 business days in any 12-month period to serve as a bone marrow donor. To be eligible, you must have worked for the Firm for at least 12 months and at least 1,250 hours during the previous 12 months. To receive organ donation leave, you must provide a written physician verification to Benefits that you are an organ donor or a bone marrow donor, and that there is a medical necessity for the donation of the organ or bone marrow. Organ donation leave may not be taken concurrently with leave under the federal FMLA. Any time during which you take organ donation leave will not be considered a break in your continuous service for purposes of your rights
